A bit of both... in the best way. I’m friendly, warm and easy to chat to, especially when you need someone to calm nerves, crack a joke or give a little confidence boost. During portraits or moments where guidance helps, I’ll gently step in and make things feel relaxed and natural (no stiff posing or awkward silences). But for most of the day, I’m very much a fly on the wall. I blend in, observe and capture moments as they genuinely happen without interrupting or taking over. You’ll never feel like a camera is constantly in your face. Think of me as someone who knows when to chat… and when to quietly disappear so the real moments can unfold.

I’ve photographed a lot of weddings over the years, and one thing never changes, every couple, every day and every story is totally different. My approach is relaxed, friendly and very much go with the flow. I’ll give you easy guidance when you need it (no awkward posing, promise), but mostly I’m there quietly catching the real stuff. The belly laughs, happy tears, chaotic group hugs and all the moments you didn’t even realise were happening. I’m calm when things feel stressful, hype you up when you need confidence, and fully in your corner from start to finish. Basically, I’m there to make you feel comfortable, have fun, and end up with photos that actually feel like you.

My biggest influence is real life. The way people interact when they forget they’re being watched, the quiet moments in between the big ones, and the emotion that doesn’t need staging to be powerful. I’m heavily inspired by documentary storytelling, letting moments unfold naturally rather than forcing them with a subtle editorial edge so everything still feels refined, timeless and intentional. I’m also influenced by cinema, fashion and light. I love how movement, shadow and composition can elevate a moment without taking away its honesty. I love images that feel emotional first and beautiful second. Photos that don’t just show what your wedding looked like, but instantly take you back to how it felt.

The biggest thing? Be present and trust the process. You don’t need to perform for the camera or worry about doing things “right”. The best photos come when you’re just enjoying your day and each other. A few simple things that really help: Build in a little breathing space in your timeline. A calm, unrushed day = relaxed, natural photos. Stick close during key moments. Holding hands, staying together and soaking things in gives me so many genuine moments to capture. Choose light over perfection. Natural light beats perfect symmetry every time, so if something feels flexible, go with the brighter option. Don’t disappear straight after the ceremony. Let yourselves be congratulated, hugged and celebrated. Those moments are gold. Trust me (and have fun). I’ll guide you when needed, step back when it matters, and keep things feeling easy, never awkward. Most importantly, remember this isn’t a photoshoot. It’s your wedding day.
