Supplier can use images for marketing, business promotions, social media and public exhibit. Client can not images for any commercial reason or for resell purposes. Client provides a meal for the photographer for full day photography. In the unlikely event I am unable to provide your wedding photos I will refund the cost of the photography in full and that will be the limit of my liability.
I can do both or either. In my experience, its a case of gauging the wedding couple. Some couples prefer you give them a bit more of your personality, others couples may want their photographer in the background, but called forward when required.
Before I started wedding photography I would shoot music festivals and venues for a local newspaper group. It wasn't long before a friend asked me to shoot his wedding at which point I became hooked. I worked with some local wedding photographers as a 1st or 2nd shooter for a number of years to hone my skills before branching out. The approach I take for wedding events is to be unobtrusively in the background documenting your wedding. I am looking for that candid shot, that can just last an instance but covey's a lasting moment. Of course I don't just stay in the background, if I see the opportunity to set a shoot up , be that a PJ shoot during morning prep, or the 'First Look', or scouting some nice places at the venue for the couple shoot, and organizing the group shots. It's your day to enjoy, I am here to ensure the photography runs smoothly and get some great images.
I don't consider myself an artist but I do consider myself a photographer. Some photographer's I have enjoyed would be the late Martin Parr and Arnold Newman, for their environmental portrait images. I also like the look of Guillermo del Toro's films and the way they're shot.
One thing I sometimes ask couples to ' let the camera see'. For instance, when getting ready for morning prep, let the camera (that's me), see you putting on those cuff links don't turn your back whilst putting them on, or showing that lovely necklace off to a bridesmaid, don't turn you back, let me see, these moments often look better natural and in the moment rather then set up for the camera.
That the Bride and Groom are enjoying their day and I am capturing great shots.
Quite a few! I suppose I am trying to capture the essence of the day, that intrinsic character of the wedding day, the couple, their family and friends. The love , the joy, the emotion, and everything in between.
I am an approachable , friendly and a reliable chap.
I haven't got a ' Favourite' wedding shoot, I do however like it when I feel connected to a wedding, I may even shed a tear at the ceremony! I love to see couples starting out on their new journey together, it makes me happy.
Good question, the only answer I can give is I think I have a good taste in Haagen Dazs ice cream, salted caramel preferable. But seriously , I have a wealth of experience, and love my job, and enjoy meeting new clients.
