When should I have a Hair & Makeup Trial? I usually recommend around 6 months before the wedding but I am happy to work to any date that suits you. What Products do you use? I use a wide range of products and brands. My kit includes Chanel, Charlotte Tilbury, Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder, Origins, MAC amongst others Will you use my preferred products? Yes of course. If you have specific brands that you like to use then I am more than happy to use your products at the trial and on the day How long will my hair and makeup last? I always fully prep hair before styling so that it holds all day. For makeup I always use good skincare, primer and setting spray to ensure your looks lasts al day and evening. I always also suggest that brides take a powder and chosen lipstick shade in their handbag to touch up. When and how should I prep any skin and hair before the wedding day? I usually ask brides to wash their hair the day before the wedding so that it has more staying power than freshly washed hair. I usually ask brides to come with clean skin and I add skincare but some brides prefer to use their own which is also absolutely fine. How many looks can I try at the trial? I ask all my brides to send me in advance or come to their trial with image of hair and makeup that they like. I then recreate this look for them at the trail. If there are then tweets required to this look we amend the hair and or make to suit. The trial usually last 2 to 3 hours. Will you be using an assistant? For a large bridal party, I often use an assistant. This will always be someone that I trust and have worked with before. How long will you need on the day? This will all depend on how many people will be requiring hair and makeup and the complexity of the hairstyles required. I would advise you on timings in details once we know all the details of how many in the party and the looks required. Will you travel to my venue? I am happy to come to your home or venue. If you are getting ready at home and then require me to travel to the venue for touch ups, this would require an additional charge. Do you have experience working on all skin tones? Absolutely. I have been working in fashion and bridal for over 20 years so have worked with all skin types and tones. Do you have experience working on all hair types? Absolutely. I have been working in fashion and bridal for over 20 years so have been given every hair brief and worked with all hair types. Can you stay and do an evening look? Yes of course, although this would incur an additional charge. What happens if you can't make it on the day? In over 20 years this has never happened. If something catastrophic were to happen I have so many contacts in the industry that you would never be left without a hair and makeup artist on the day. Would you like to see pictures of the bridal gown and bridesmaids dresses? Yes please as it really helps to decide on the finished look. Can you help with my veil and tiara? Of course. I would be happy too. Do I need to bring my hair accessories, veil and tiara to the trial? Some brides already have these and bring them along. Others use the trial as an opportunity to decide on what to go for in terms of accessories.
